Installed in the lobby of 19M, Chanel's creative hub in Paris, this 22-screen system was built around an unusual requirement: the content had to feel genuinely random, with no impression of looping or synchronization across any of the screens.
The software solution was built based on my own multi-display player, developed over years of work on multi-screen installations. The typical challenge with such setups is achieving synchronization. Here, the challenge was the opposite: even with independent players running on separate machines, patterns of accidental synchronization tend to emerge over time. The system had to be carefully tuned to prevent this, ensuring that the mix of images and videos across the 22 screens, some in landscape, some in portrait, would always feel alive and unscripted.
